Uhuru, the retired President sends Raila message on his birthday wishing him God’s blessings as he turns 78 years old.
In a birthday message released on January 7th, former president Uhuru Kenyatta reaffirmed that former prime minister Raila Odinga is his brother.
The former head of state wished Raila a happy new year and acknowledged that he was also his friend.
Uhuru Kenyatta also wished his ally God’s blessings as the ODM boss turned 78 years old.
“I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Raila Odinga a happy birthday.
“May God’s blessings and favour be upon you today and in the years to come,” read the statement in part.

The former president also shared a picture of a jovial Raila that was taken weeks before the August 9 polls.
Meanwhile, other leaders also joined Raila in wishing Raila a happy birthday.
His running mate in the August polls Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua described Raila as one of the most transformative leaders Kenya had over the years.
“Happy birthday Raila Odinga – captain of Azimio and Kenya’s foremost transformational leader. May you enjoy many happy returns,” she stated.
