EALA MP Winnie Odinga has revealed that she currently has no plans to vie for a political seat in 2027.

Speaking during a media interview with Hot 96 on Thursday, May 8, the daughter of ODM leader Raila Odinga acknowledged that some people were pushing her to contest for an elective seat.

However, she noted that the next elections were not her focus.

“At the moment, I am not really keen on it. People are asking me to do that, but I am not feeling it right now,” she stated.

Further, she also expressed that she was not keen on returning to EALA.

According to Winnie, there would be other people better suited for the job, given that she prefers hands-on engagement to legislative duties.

During the interview, she also weighed in on the current standoff between Kenyans and elected leaders, further calling on the political class to listen to the electorate.

She noted that while the government had incorporated some of the leaders from the opposition, real problems raised by the youth were yet to be addressed.

“Living in Kenya can be very annoying. It is frustrating. Nothing works. Simple things cannot be done. The bubble is going to burst,” she remarked.
