Marcus Rashford in contract dilemma as Arsenal identifies him as their primary target

Marcus Rashford in a contract dilemma with his contract set to expire in the summer amid continued interest from Arsenal.

Arsenal is considering a bold bid to acquire Marcus Rashford, a Manchester United striker, according to Football Insider.

The fact that the England international’s contract expires at the end of this season has piqued the interest of some of the top clubs in Europe.

The Red Devils have the option to extend Rashford’s contract by another 12 months, but they have not yet exercised it.

This might be a hint that Rashford would likely leave the team in the summer of 2023.

According to the article, Arsenal has gained hope as a result of the deadlocked contract negotiations.

The club apparently had interest in the 24-year-old during the summer but decided to buy Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City instead.

It is no secret that the North London club wants to bolster their attacking lineup with another striker. Additionally, Rashford’s addition makes any potential future move even more sense as he’s equally skilled at playing on the wing as through the middle.

Rashford made 310 appearances for his current team, scoring an astounding 96 goals and setting up another 60.

And that demonstrates that he has the capacity to quickly raise the bar at the Emirates Stadium.

Rashford Contract dilemma amid Arsenal interests

Marcus Rashford is currently valued at £54 million by Transfermarkt.

His market value, however, is still uncertain since it all hinges on his contractual condition. If neither he nor United activates the 12-month extension, the England international will be free to choose another club next summer.

It’s quite doubtful that Manchester United will let Rashford leave for free in 2023, thus the club is expected to activate the clause that ensures a transfer price if the striker departs the following summer.

Arsenal will face stiff competition for his signature. French giants PSG have been previously linked with a move for Rashford, and the queue to sign him is only expected to increase, if he doesn’t put pen to fresh terms at Old Trafford.

If Arsenal qualifies for the Champions League this term, it will certainly boost their chances of landing players from the elite pool. And Rashford would be another terrific addition to Arteta’s young squad.
