KUCCPS opens application portal to all 2022 KCSE candidates to apply and revise the course choices.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Wednesday, May 17, opened the application portal for the 2022 KCSE candidates to select and revise their courses of choice.

Those who scored C+ and above were eligible for degree programs while the rest would apply for various courses offered in colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

“The 869,783 students who sat for 2022 KCSE exams would enjoy a new funding model that was announced by President William Ruto.

Speaking at the University of Nairobi, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu noted that KUCCPS had verified all the fees for all programmes on the website.

The KUCCPS portal will contain fee structures for all programmes to enable applicants make informed decisions.

“KUCCPS will publish fee structures for all programmes in the institutions to guide students in making choices based on income levels, course chosen and institution selected,” Machogu announced.

He added that the details were available for all students to read through before making a decision.

“I have asked the KUCCPS to open the portal to allow students to start applying for courses they wish to study in universities and TVETS.

“I made this directive after being satisfied that the Placement service has made conditions for the new model having verified all the fee details of all programmes on their website. These details will be available for all students,” he stated.

Further, the Education CS reiterated that courses in public universities would only be eligible for both government scholarships and loans while those selected in private universities would be eligible for government loans.

In order to assist in the application process, the Placement Service was directed to partner with the Huduma Secretariat to ensure students could apply from all 52 Huduma Centres countrywide.

After the application process, CS Machogu affirmed that the students would be expected to contact their respective institutions for joining instructions and guidance on how to apply for Government scholarships and loans, which would be issued in accordance with the funding model.

The deadline is set for June 7, 2023.
