It’s time for fake kingpins to take over, CS Kuria in a swipe to DP Gacgagua says after King Charles’s visit
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Friday took a swipe at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after the conclusion of King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to Kenya.
In a statement, Kuria renewed his attacks on the Deputy President using King Charles III’s visit to the country as fodder to throw a jab a Gachagua.
“Sasa venye King amerudi kwao, fake Kingpins you can take over,” Kuria said.
President Ruto also made similar remarks on kingship during his address at the State banquet in honour of King Charles.
While addressing the State banquet, Ruto said the tribal leaders masquerading as kingpins should take a break as the real King was in the county.
“Your majesty, in this country, we have kingpins in different regions, and for that reason, I want to say that the contest is suspended because the real king is in the country,” he said.
The remarks come at a time when Moses Kuria has linked to supremacy battles pitting key Mt Kenya leaders even as the region appears unsettled on who its political pointman is.

CS Kuria has also on numerous occasions blamed the Deputy President for his woes.
Kuria after he was reassigned to the Public Service Ministry from the lucrative Trade docket pointed fingers at Gachagua for his removal from the influential Trade Ministry.
Another instance that highlighted the tiff between the two is when CS Kuria dismissed Kenyans who were complaining about the high prices of fuel.
CS Kuria had told Kenyans aggrieved by the high prices of fuel to dig their own wells instead of complaining every time.
He further warned Kenyans that the prices of fuel would increase by Ksh10 every month until February 2024, in a bid to drive the point home that the prices were beyond the government’s control.
However, Gachagua told off Kuria for his condescending attitude towards Kenyans.
