Raila Spokesperson in 2022 elections, Makau Mutua calls on dissatisfied members with the dialogue report to leave Azimio
Makau Mutua now says that anyone in the coalition who is not supporting the National Dialogue Committee’s report should leave the outfit.
In a statement, Mutua directed Azimio members opposing the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report to leave for undermining the coalition.
The former Raila Spokesperson argued that the report was a product of intense talks which was democratically and unanimously supported by Azimio.
“Azimio isn’t a forced marriage. Please leave if you can’t support the NADCO report which is the product of the party’s agreed democratic processes,” Makau Mutua wrote on X formerly known as Twitter.
This comes amidst the rejection of the report’s recommendations by Azimio co-principals Martha Karua and Eugene Wamalwa.
Karua who was Raila’s running mate in the 2022 polls indicated that the NADCO report failed to address the cost of living.
She called on Kenyans to reject the National Dialogue Report.
“The findings of the NADCO report confirm that the committee was formed by the unwilling, composed of the incompetent to do the unnecessary,” Karua said.
Karua who appeared to read from a different script with that of Raila Odinga on the audit of the election, argued that Parliament is dominated by Kenya Kwanza and nothing tangible will be achieved.

“While concluding in the NADCO Report, we have to say, it has nothing to alleviate the suffering of citizens but it offers goodies to the leadership. This is totally unacceptable. It is a fraud upon Kenyans. It should be frowned upon and rejected. It is a distracting national smokescreen,” Karua said.
“In any talks, the part that makes the talks succeed is the party in power. These talks have failed because the Kenya Kwanza regime and Ruto himself have nothing but contempt for Kenyans. You fool around for 8 months and you come with 0 results,” she added.
Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) leader, Eugene Wamalwa also voiced dissent over the report for failing to address the cost of living.
The former Defence Cabinet Secretary pledged to abstain from signing the report and rejected any sitting allowance associated with it.
“I didn’t and will not append my signature to the NADCO report and have not and will not accept any sitting allowance for the same because I believe we did not do justice to the single most important issue to Kenyans; the cost of living,” he said.
