PSC releases names of 8,610 interns appointed for government jobs (LIST)

The Public Service Commission (PSC) released a list of 8,610 appointed interns to serve in various departments under its Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP).
The interns will be paid a stipend at a rate determined by the government.
The Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) is a government youth empowerment programme whose main objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build skills in order to enhance their chances for employment, networking, and entrepreneurship.
PSC had in August extended the application period for the recruitment of over 8,000 interns to government ministries, departments, and agencies.
“The duration of the internship is 12 months, non-renewable,” read the advertisement.
For an appointment to an internship position, the commission noted that a candidate must meet several requirements.
He or she must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
The candidate must have graduated no earlier than the year 2017 and be proficient in computer skills.

They are expected to complete duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by the supervisors.
He or she will also document relevant skills acquired in their areas of deployment.
In addition, they will actively participate in any relevant mentorship activities and additional responsibilities designed for the programme.
“On successful completion of the internship programme, the interns will be awarded a certificate,” reads the advertisement.
The interns are the sixth cohort to be appointed to the programme.
