Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah involved in a road accident with a trailer in Kisumu on his way to Busia.
Senator Okiya Omtatah was on Friday, February 16, involved in an accident on his way to Busia.
The Senator disclosed that a trailer lost control after the brakes failed and hit his vehicle.
The trailer then landed in a ditch as Omtatah’s car tried to swerve.
Speaking to a local media house, Omtatah noted that the trailer hit his vehicle as he attempted to swerve.
Omtatah who was with his driver, survived the accident without sustaining any injuries.
“The trailer landed in a ditch. It was going to be a bad accident but I was lucky,” the Senator said.

Nyanza Regional Traffic Boss Allan Mwangi who confirmed the incident said as a result of the reverse impact, the Senator’s car got slightly damaged.
Both vehicles were driven to Maseno police station for further investigations.
The Senator was able to head home after police officers provided him with a vehicle as they processed the crime scene.
