Ex-Nation Media Group news editor Washington Akumu dies after suffering heart attack.
Former Nation business journalist and veteran editor Washington Akumu is dead.
His family and friends said he died in the hospital after suffering a heart attack on Monday, April 22, evening.
He had been on the road to recovery following a series of operations at a Nairobi Hospital.
Akumu, who was a business news editor with the Nation Media Group, had cancer of the spine and was undergoing chemotherapy until his death.

According to his LinkedIn left Nation Media Group in 2014 and joined Redhouse Public Relations firm where he worked as the Group Account Director.
In 2016, he joined Media Edge Public Relations as Managing Director, a position he served until his death.
He also worked in the communications department of giant mobile network operator Safaricom.
