EACC detectives arrest Kericho County government official demanding Sh200,000 to facilitate land transaction
EACC detectives arrest Kericho County government official demanding Sh200,000 to facilitate land transaction.
The Head of Land Survey in Kericho County Government is being detained after detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested him over corruption.
Ismail Kipngeno Koskei was apprehended after the EACC officer fed on a tip that he was demanding a Sh200,000 bribe to allow a land transaction.
“The complainant, a resident of Anaibkoi Sub-County, refused to succumb to the bribe demands and instead sought help from EACC,” said the anti-graft body.
According to the EACC, the complainant’s plot, registered in the name of their late mother, had been incorrectly combined with Brooke Market County Council of Kipsigis.
They (the complainant), therefore, sought to have the Kericho County’s Land Survey office separate the plot from Brooke Market.
