The officers said he was chased and he drove off before he vanished into Karura Forest.
However, Wanjigi denied the claims.
He asked since when did it become illegal for him to drive around.
“I’m a free man to drive the way I want. Is it wrong to do so? And even if it is true I was dishing out money as they claim, for what?” He asked.
Wanjigi termed the move as harassment even as more police were being sent to his house.
In addition, his lawyer Odero Osiemo has termed as political harassment police decision to camp outside the economist’s home in Muthaiga.
Osiemo, who spoke to media at the home, said they are prepared for any eventuality.
“Obviously you know the political history, it is just political harassment that every Kenyan and now him is facing. He has faced this before. We are prepared for any eventuality. I believe these are all politics,” he stated.
Police cordoned off Wanjigi residence with yellow tape reminiscent to what happens at scenes of crime.
