Newly appointed Cooperatives CS Oparanya threatens to resign

Cooperatives and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development CS Wycliffe Oparanya has threatened to resign if the government does not listen to his advice

Cooperatives and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development CS Wycliffe Oparanya has threatened to resign if the government does not listen to his advice.

Speaking during a church service in Nairobi on Sunday, August 11, Oparanya claimed that the government noticed the work he had previously done as governor of Kakamega and therefore hired him.

The former governor said he would play his part in working with the government but threatened to quit if he was not listened to.

“You do know I am a servant. Those who come from Kakamega, have seen the work that I have done there. That’s why these people have looked and seen that this old man can help with work. I will help them but if I tell them to go in some direction and they refuse, I will quit and go back home,” Oparanya remarked.

The CS stated that he had listened to the young people complaining of unemployment and maintained that he would offer solutions to that.

“I have seen the young people say that they don’t have businesses or jobs. Now I am here to ensure that they have something to do. That is my work,” Oparanya affirmed.

He said that the young people were free to visit his office in Nairobi.

“The young people and even the older generation are free to come to my office so that we can help each other,” Oparanya stated.
