A man has been arrested after he beat up and stabbed his girlfriend to death in Nakuru town.
The incident occurred at the Nbiuni area and police have identified the suspect as Elikana Pokosi Masai.
Neighbours said the two, who had lived together for some time, were heard quarreling before the woman was found unconscious at about 11 am Sunday.
Gilgil OCPD Jamleck Ngaruiya said the man is suspected to have attacked his middle-aged girlfriend, inflicting multiple injuries on her body.

“He left her unconscious but she died moments later,” Ngaruiya said.
The man works at a timber yard at Mwariki and the OCPD said he used a panga and a blunt object to attack the lady.
Police visited the scene for investigations and moved the body of the deceased to the Kwa Jack mortuary.
Angry neighbours detained the suspect until police arrived at the scene.
Ngaruiya said police are investigating the incident.
