State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed clashed with lawyer Morara Kebaso on Wednesday night, August 28, after the latter claimed to have received a call from the president for a job offer.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive Show, Morara claimed that he had initially received calls from people around the Head of State before the president eventually called him.
The lawyer asserted that he spoke to President William Ruto respectfully and declined the opportunity, which he claimed was a state offer.
“Initially, I had calls from people around the president. Then eventually I got a call from the president. I spoke to him very respectfully because he is our president and he has been given that mandate by the people. Whatever I was offered, I refused. I was offered a state position,” Morara claimed.
However, in reaction to the claims, Mohamed, in a live call, claimed that President Ruto never called the outspoken lawyer.
The State House spokesperson said he was shocked by the allegations and challenged Morara to prove that the president had actually called him.
“I am shocked about what Morara is saying. I wonder why he would lie on national TV. For the record, no such call ever took place. It is a figment of his imagination. Let him substantiate it,” Mohamed stated.
The State House spokesperson further called out Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange for allowing Morara to make such claims on national television without asking for proof.

“What is more shocking Jeff is that you can allow anyone to come on TV and tell you such a thing without demanding any proof or substantiation and you just buy it. All you should have done and said is those are his words or alleged claims from him,” Mohamed said.
However, the lawyer later maintained that he was not going to prove whether it happened or not, claiming that the president knew it happened.
“I am not going to follow the footsteps of those leaders who used to record the president or put him on loud speaker to prove a point. I don’t think it’s good manners. For that reason I will not focus on proving whether or not it happened. William Ruto knows it happened,” Morara remarked.
During the interview, the lawyer challenged the president on his government’s projects, claiming that some never start and those that start later stall, and when they are completed, they are concluded with massive looting of public funds.
Morara became a Kenyan sensation after travelling around the country to inspect and scrutinise government projects.
