One person was killed and several others were critically injured after a bus traveling along the Moyale-Marsabit highway was sprayed with bullets by terrorits on Monday night, September 2.
The incident occurred between Bori Junction and Dadach Lakole area when gunmen attacked the Salama bus, which was en route to Nairobi, before fleeing the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest the terrorists reportedly began spraying bullets at the bus, leaving passengers nursing critical injuries.
Following the incident, four individuals were critically injured and were subsequently rushed to Sololo Mission Hospital, but one succumbed to the injuries before reaching the facility.
Footage shared showed a rescue team evacuating those trapped from the bus as first responders administered first aid on injured persons.
Police have initiated a probe into the incident.
The incident comes just weeks after a similar attack in the Elle Dimtu area of Marsabit County, where gunmen opened fire on a lorry, killing seven people.

The attack happened on Monday night, August 12, with five people dying on the spot, according to the police.
The victims were transporting food from Moyale to other parts of the country when the incident happened.
The attackers opened fire on the lorry before setting it ablaze with some of the victims inside. Two people managed to get out of the vehicle and hid in the thicket.
A 16-year-old survived the attack and reported the incident to the Forole Police Station.
