A fire incident has been reported at Moi Girls High School in Nairobi.
In a statement on Monday, January 20, the Kenya Red Cross said that response teams were en route to the school.
According to Preliminary reports, the fire broke out in one of the buildings at the institution.
Police disclosed that all the students had been evacuated and the fire was contained by fire engines that were on sight.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

This is the second time a fire incident has been reported at the school.
On September 2, 2017, a devastating fire broke out in the Kabarnet dormitory at the school resulting in the tragic deaths of 10 students.
The incident also left several others injured. Investigations revealed that the fire was deliberately started by a 14-year-old Form One student housed in the same dormitory.
Her intention was reportedly to cause a disturbance that would lead to her transfer from the school.
In December 2021, the High Court found her guilty of manslaughter, noting that while she did not intend to kill her schoolmates, her actions were reckless and led to the loss of lives.
She was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison.
