Autopsy reveals what caused the death of 2 abducted Mlolongo 4

Autopsy shows Justin Mutumwa and Martin Mwau (2 abducted Mlolongo 4) died from strangulation, chest injuries

Autopsy shows Justin Mutumwa and Martin Mwau (2 abducted Mlolongo 4) died from strangulation, chest injuries.

Justus Mutumwa and Martin Mwau, the Mlolongo 2 abductees who were found dead in January, died from multiple abdominal and chest injuries caused by a blunt object and strangulation, pathologist Richard Njoroge revealed.

While giving details of the post mortem on Wednesday at the City Mortuary, Njoroge disclosed that the two bodies had already massively decomposed by the time the postmortem was done.

“For the first body (Mutumwa), there were multiple abdominal, chest, and head injuries and we also have defense injuries on the arms. It looks like there was a struggle. When you try to defend yourself, you will get what we call defense injuries on the arms and the wrists,” explained Njoroge.

“The second body (Mwau) was very decomposed. The main findings were a scalp or head injury. He also had posterior abdominal wall and thoracic injuries. Again, it was multiple injuries. The other main finding on the second body was injuries in the strap muscles of the neck. So we came to the conclusion that the cause of death of the second body was manual neck compression,” detailed the pathologist.

The two men who were part of the Mlolongo four were found dead on Thursday, January 31, barely three hours after the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mohammed Amin, appeared in court to answer on their whereabouts.

Mutumwa was found dead in Ruai and his body was moved to City Mortuary in Nairobi, according to his family’s lawyer Dan Maanzo.

The family noted that his body was collected from Ruai and taken to the mortuary on December 18, 2024, just two days after he went missing.

“A quick check of fingerprints has confirmed that it is him,” Maanzo told the media.

On the other hand, Mwau was found dead at the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly known as City Mortuary.

Reports indicated that Martin, who had been missing for 44 days, went missing on December 17. The discovery left more questions in the puzzle of his disappearance.

The four men from Mlolongo, Machakos County, including Justus Mutumwa, Martin Mwau, Karani Mwema, and Stephen Mbisi Kavingu, went missing on December 16 and December 17, 2024.

They were reportedly picked up by masked individuals believed to be police officers.

The National Police Service (NPS) maintained it was never involved in the alleged abduction of the four and was only involved in probing the matter.

While honouring court summons after a long battle, IG Kanja and DCI boss Amin denied having taken the four into custody and claimed the police were not involved in their disappearance.
