Chelsea News Report: 46-year-old could be Chelsea’s new owner by next week

Chelsea News Report: 46-year-old could be Chelsea’s new owner by next week, he’s increasingly confident of winning.

Chelsea’s takeover could be completed as soon as next week, according to reports.

Miguel Delaney, the top football reporter for the Independent, has revealed in his newsletter that a takeover at Stamford Bridge may be finalized as soon as next week.

The syndicate led by Todd Boehly, a 46-year-old businessman, is said to be “increasingly optimistic” that they will win the ownership race and purchase the London club.

There are three more bidders in the running to acquire Chelsea, all of whom have reportedly informed Chelsea officials Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia that they want them to stay at the club under their leadership.

Boehly is battling it out with rival consortiums headed by Stephen Pagliuca and Sir Martin Broughton.

The American investor was in attendance on Wednesday night during the 4-2 Premier League defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, which hopefully hasn’t dampened his spirits of buying the club.

It’s critical that the club resume its transfer planning and day-to-day operations, which have been hampered by government penalties.

As the summer months approach, there has been a lot of ambiguity over player contracts, so once a takeover is completed, there may be some more clarity in the following weeks.

Boehly, who has received a lot of positive feedback throughout the process, appears to be someone who the fans will be glad to have at the helm.
