The incident occurred at the Public Service Commission (PSC) offices along Harambee Avenue on Tuesday, March 25, where Jilo alongside four other candidates was scheduled to appear before the selection panel for the NPSC chairman position.
The cause of death remains unknown, and his body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the cause.
Interviews for the NPSC Chairperson position commenced on Monday, March 24, and concluded on Tuesday, March 25.
Candidates shortlisted for the chairperson role included former Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa, ex-IEBC commissioner Margaret Mwachanya, and former IPOA member Doreen Nkatha.
Others were ex-Principal Secretary Micah Powon, ex-Member of Parliament Humphrey Kimani, John Mutegi, Susan Oyatsi, John Otieno, and Komora.
These interviews were held at the Public Service Commission offices on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, starting at 9 AM each day.

Candidates were required to arrive at least 20 minutes early, bringing original documents such as their National ID card, academic certificates, transcripts, and relevant clearances.
The NPSC chairman leads the Commission which is responsible for overseeing human resource functions within the National Police Service.
This includes recruitment, promotions, transfers, engaging with police associations, monitoring and evaluation, policy development and oversight, and disciplinary control.
