Farouk Kibet threatens to have Uhuru Kenyatta's retirement benefits stopped

President William Ruto’s personal assistant, Farouk Kibet, has called for the withdrawal of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s retirement benefits.

Speaking in Vihiga, Farouk lashed out at the former Head of State, alleging that Uhuru has continued to engage in active politics despite his retirement.

As such, Farouk urged the National Assembly to take action against any retired leader who refuses to stay out of the political arena.

“I want to ask former President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop inciting people. I want to ask Kimani Ichung’wah to table a motion in the National Assembly that any leader who goes into retirement and still engages in active politics is stripped of his retirement benefits and the money be given to the members of the public,” he said.

Farouk’s statement comes a day after he hit out at Uhuru whom he accused of meddling in the running of the country.

Speaking in West Pokot on Saturday, May 3, he accused the former president of inciting the youth to lawlessness at every opportunity he gets to speak.

Farouk asked Uhuru to sit back and allow his successor the space to carry out his agenda like he was allowed for the ten years he was in power.

Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet lashes out at Uhuru Kenyatta over incitement

“We are asking the retired president to respect Kenyans. You can’t be a retired head of state and then incite the public. He should allow the current president to govern.

“He was president for ten years; we were not happy with his regime, but we put up with it and allowed him to work. Every morning he wakes up to incite; he doesn’t want peace for this country, we tell him that he will be defeated,” he said.

Elsewhere, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accused President William Ruto of orchestrating attacks on Uhuru through proxies, daring him to deliver the insults personally.

Speaking on Sunday, Gachagua alleged that Ruto had instructed his personal assistant Farouk Kibet and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah to publicly insult the former head of state.

“Yesterday, I saw President William Ruto had sent Farouk Kibet and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah to insult former President Uhuru Kenyatta. I want to dare Ruto to insult Uhuru himself and not by sending his proxies,” he declared.
