KUCCPS opens applications for TVET courses for 2000–2025 KCSE candidates
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses for the May 2026 intake.
In a notice issued on Sunday, March 8, to prospective students, KUCCPS said the application targets candidates from the 2000 to 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cohorts who wish to pursue technical and vocational training in various institutions across the country.
The courses open for application are offered at national polytechnics, technical training institutes, institutes of science and technology, and other accredited technical colleges.
The placement body encouraged students to apply through its online portal, noting that applicants with any KCSE mean grade can find suitable courses in the TVET institutions.
“With any KCSE mean grade, you can find a course,” the placement body said in the announcement.
Interested candidates have been advised to log in to the KUCCPS student portal, select their preferred TVET courses before submitting their applications.
KUCCPS also clarified that the application window is open not only to the 2025 KCSE candidates but also to Form Four leavers from previous years.

KUCCPS has set March 18, 2026, as the timeline for submitting applications, urging applicants to apply early and carefully review available courses in the institutions before making their selections.
The May 2026 intake forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand technical and vocational training and equip young people with practical abilities for the job market.
Recently, the cabinet approved China’s participation in developing over 70 TVET institutions across the country, with modern training equipment, as part of Phase III of the Kenya-China Project.
a decision that will see the institutions upgraded with industry-standard tools and facilities across eight priority technical disciplines, aligning training with labour-market needs and improving graduates ‘ employability.
The opening of applications for TVET institutions followed a recent opening of applications for 31 courses issued by Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC). Still, many 2025 KCSE candidates now await the application window for university placement services.
