The government of Israel has announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyan students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies focused on sustainable development and community empowerment.

In a notice dated Saturday, March 14, the Israeli mission in Kenya said the applications were open for a Master’s programme in African Sustainable Communities at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

The programme aims to bring together students from around the world to study challenges and opportunities affecting African societies today.

According to the Israeli government, the interdisciplinary course focuses on sustainable development, community empowerment, and social change.

“Applications are now open for the MA programme in African Sustainable Communities at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel),” the Israeli mission in Kenya stated.

“This interdisciplinary programme explores the major challenges and opportunities shaping African societies today, bringing together students from around the world to study sustainable development and social change,” it added.

Students who are shortlisted will spend their first year studying at the Israeli university before undertaking fieldwork or a community development project in Africa.

The programme specifically targets individuals interested in working in development, policy-making, sustainability, and community leadership.
