CS Murkomen orders deployment of special police team to tame goons

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered the Inspector General of police Douglas Kanja to deploy a special team of police to tame goons across the country used politically to cause unrest across the country.

Speaking in Nandi and Trans Nzoia counties on Sunday, Murkomen said that despite the gains the police force have achieved to deal with banditry and terrorism, politicians are now becoming the perpetrators of anarchy some parts of nation.

“Time for talking is over. I have told the Inspector General to send a special team team to come here and sweep away those gangs. They are harming people here in Trans Nzoia,” he said.

He fired at politicians who are using goons to advance their political agendas, warning that the matter will no longer be tolerated.

I want to warn leaders on giving young people crude weapons and drugs. That must stop,” he said.

The Interior CS however claimed that politicians have even gone to extents of sponsoring goons to cause unrest in their own events to warrant sympathy and call for the resignation of government officials.

“Politicians are the quickest ones. They sponsor goons and are quick to say that the CS and the PS must resign. How do you expect the police to provide security when you send goons to attack them with clubs?” he posed.
