Arsenal submits bid for Lucas Paqueta; other latest transfer updates
Arsenal submits bid for Lyon’s midfielder, Lucas Paqueta with the club also following up on other transfer targets.
Arsenal continue to be heavily linked with a summer transfer for Lyon star Lucas Paqueta.
According to the French publication L’Equipe, Paqueta has wanted to leave Lyon this summer.
Additionally, it is alleged that should a compelling offer come in, the Ligue 1 team will permit the gifted playmaker to leave.
Speaking about the player’s future, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas told Goal France: “There are offers for him.
“There are some players who can feel fully fulfilled by the project, and others who can’t. Economically, we have the means to pursue our ideas and our objectives.”
Paqueta could cost as much as £58million in this window. However, the French outlet Media Foot claims that Lyon would accept just €50million (£42.9million) for the 24-year-old.
Arsenal submits bid
Arsenal are ‘pushing’ hard to beat Newcastle United to sign Lyon star Paqueta, according to French outlet Media Foot.
Newcastle United are said to have made a £34million offer for the Brazilian international but it is also claimed that the north Londoners are working hard to try and convince Paqueta to join them this summer.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are firmly in the market for a new full-back as they have reportedly submitted a £5.9 million bid for Benfica ace Alex Grimaldo.
Arsenal could also be in hot pursuit of Belgian ace Youri Tielemans who is claimed to be the North London club’s top priority.
And reports claim that Arsenal have already lined up a £30m offer for the Leicester talisman.
