Arsenal vs Crystal Palace clash; full squad and the injuries revealed with Takehiro Tomiyasu in line for return.
Arsenal has an almost full squad for Monday’s trip to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park with only one player set to be a doubt ahead of the game
Arsenal will go to Selhurst Park on Monday evening after receiving good news on two of their players.
Both Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu could be set to return to the Gunners’ team.
Saka, an Academy graduate, has been held out for the previous two weeks, missing England’s international duty after testing positive for Covid.
For the voyage across the capital, he will rejoin Mikel Arteta’s squad.
There’s also additional positive news about Tomiyasu’s fitness, as the Japanese international hasn’t played in the Premier League since early January. The former Bologna player has been suffering from calf issues, but Arteta has hinted that he might be in contention.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: “I think he will be close. He’s been training more and more. He’ll be joining some sessions this week so let’s see how his injury is.”
There is however some bad news for the Gunners ahead of their clash with the Eagles. No. 1 goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was out of the 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last time and appears unlikely to return.
Arteta said: “He hasn’t trained yet so we don’t know what he’ll be able to do on Monday. He wanted to play against Villa but it was a significant injury and he had to take his time and the physios are doing everything they can.
“We will see more in the next few days when he starts to do real training.”
