Arsenal’s mission impossible after Fabian Ruiz blow
2 min readFabian Ruiz has reportedly received an offer from Arsenal but the club been dealt a huge blow after the player preferred other clubs.
Ruiz reportedly received an offer from Arsenal, but the Spaniard prefers PSG or Real Madrid.
The player’s contract at Napoli expires in June 2023, and talks over a new deal have been put on hold.
The two parties have not reached an agreement over a contract extension and if Fabian fails to sign a new deal over the next few months, Napoli will try to sell him in the summer.
Fabian Ruiz joined Napoli during the Carlo Ancelotti era in 2018 and would reunite with the Italian tactician at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Tuttosport journalist Raffaele Auriemma, Fabian has already received an offer from Arsenal but would prefer PSG or Real Madrid.
“I believe that Fabián Ruiz will leave Napoli at the end of the season. There’s been a proposal from Arsenal, but I understand that the player doesn’t want to join the Gunners,” he said.
“The midfielder is waiting for other offers, be they from PSG or Real Madrid.”
Barcelona have also been linked with signing the 25-year-old who has played a key role in Luciano Spalletti’s team this season, scoring six goals and delivering four assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
The Spain international has also been linked with Barcelona and revealed last week that he would like to return to Spain in the future.
Ruiz would become the latest Serie A star to snub a move to Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side has tried to sign many players from Italy over the last few years but only managed to get Bologna‘s Takehiro Tomiyasu last summer.
The Gunners were in advanced talks to sign Vlahovic in the January transfer window and had reached an agreement in principle with Fiorentina, but the striker picked the Old Lady instead.
