Arteta offers the green light for three Arsenal transfers on deadline day.

Arsenal’s wage bill has been reduced as a result of several players leaving the club, but Mikel Arteta’s squad is becoming even more scarce.

Although Arsenal’s transfer window did not go as planned, deadline day can always throw up a few surprises.

With just over 24 hours remaining to do business, the Gunners are looking light in several areas.

Mikel Arteta and his sporting director, Edu, have missed out on a number of targets, including Dusan Vlahovic and Arthur Melo, with the former joining Juventus and the latter staying in Turin.

Arsenal has found options, but it is unclear whether they will have enough time to complete any transactions.

A new striker

Arsenal’s top target for the duration of the window was Dusan Vlahovic, but he turned down a move to Juventus in favor of staying at the club.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lille’s Jonathan David, and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak are all potential replacements who cannot be ruled out.

Arsenal could also try to sign a striker on a short-term deal until the end of the season, but in any case, a new attacker should arrive before the clock strikes midnight on Monday evening.
