A businessman who went missing in Meru County was found dead on Wednesday evening, February 21.

According to reports, the businessman disappeared on Friday, February 16, before being found dumped in the Kathita River.

The body was found stashed in a sack according to a police report.

Described as a prominent figure in the area, his untimely demise has stirred considerable distress among the local community.

His remains were then transferred to the local mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, reports unveiled that the man bore strangulation marks on his neck, suggesting he may have been the victim of foul play before being disposed of in the river.

A member of the family said that the deceased’s body was found on Wednesday evening.

She added that detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were actively conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.

However, she refrained from divulging further details on the mysterious demise, citing the ongoing investigations.

Friends and family of the deceased have urged the police to conduct thorough investigations to ensure justice is served.

This incident came after another death was reported in Kasarani, Nairobi County. A woman was tied up, her body stashed in a sack and thrown into a river.

Her body had stab wounds on her neck that residents believed may have been inflicted by the culprit.

Police are looking into the emerging trend of gruesome and mysterious murders reported in Kasarani and other areas countrywide.
