Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, his Kiambu counterpart Karungo Thangwa, and Kirinyaga’s James Murango are among those that have fallen victim to the axe in the ongoing fallout between the impeached DP Gachagua and his former boss, President William Ruto.
Nyutu has been serving as the Education Committee chair, while Thangwa has been holding a similar position in the Roads and Transport Committee. They have both been removed from the various positions and committees.

Murango, on the other hand, has been as the Agriculture Committee Chair, but has since been kicked out.
Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has also been removed from the lucrative Senate Public Accounts Committee.
Omtatah has, notably, publicly declared his intention to vie for the country’s top seat at the 2027 General Election and remove President Ruto from the house on the hill.
