Furious Manchester United responds to Cristiano Ronaldo Chelsea transfer talk

Cristiano Ronaldo Chelsea transfer talk

Manchester United are furious about reports that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes met with new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly about Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential move to Chelsea.

Reports emerged on Saturday that Todd Boehly met Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal, where the player’s future and a possible move to Stamford Bridge was discussed.

However, Manchester United have told Cristiano Ronaldo that he is not for sale.

According to Manchester Evening News; a senior club source said that ‘Cristiano is not for sale. We want and fully expect him to be with us next season.’

The developments come amid claims in Portugal that Mendes had offered the 37-year-old to Bayern Munich because Ronaldo had become disillusioned with the club’s lack of action in the transfer market since appointing Erik ten Hag as manager.

Ronaldo enjoyed an impressive return to United last season, scoring 24 goals in 38 appearances and being voted for the PFA Player of the Year award.

Ronaldo is claimed to be worried about the club’s transfer plan because several agreements have been stalled in the early stages of the transfer window.

Ronaldo is desperate to win championships at United and return to the Champions League.

While Cristiano Ronaldo Chelsea transfer talk remains unknown, Thomas Tuchel is eager to improve his attacking options now that he has approved Romelu Lukaku’s £97.5 million transfer to Inter Milan.

Ronaldo insisted last month that he was ‘happy’ at Manchester United and excited to work under new boss Erik ten Hag.

‘I was and still am very happy to be here, and what I have to say to the fans is they are amazing,’ Ronaldo said.

‘Even when we lost games, they always support us, they always are with us. The supporters are always in my heart and it’s the people that we all should respect because they are always on our side, He added.
