Gov Simba Arati given strategy on how to deal with MP Osoro after Kisii chaos

Kisii governor Simba Arati told to match South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro with equal force following an attack by goons

Kisii governor Simba Arati told to match South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro with equal force following an attack by goons.

Members of ODM party have came out to condemn Osoro even as they called on Arati to shelve his laid-back personality and go physical if need be.

This follows Arati attack on January 8 after unknown men fired in the air leaving a host of the attendees injured.

Following the attack, Kisii governor would later accuse Osoro of masterminding the chaos.

Arati had convened a bursary issuance meeting in Witanga, South Mugirango, when the chaos occurred.

And now ODM and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi suggested that Simba Arati should face off with Osoro in equal physical strength at the expense of running to the law enforcers for action.

Amisi, while drawing an instance from his Mumia East colleague Peter Salasya, who fought an MCA at a funeral, asked the Kisii governor to seek training for such if the need arose.

“Simba Arati, don’t look any further in handling Silvanus Osoro. Our very own Peter Salasya tested his newly assembled supersonic, high-projectile missile slaps. Yesterday, it was shot towards the western hemisphere, hitting the target at a record time. You may need to cross the border and negotiate with the paramount chief and Wanga elders to formalise our military cooperation,” he said.

Also to advise Arati on the same was Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga who accused her colleague of ‘being too calm’.

At the same time, the ODM party under the leadership of Raila Odinga raised concerns about the safety of Arati following the chaos.

Governor Simba Arati life in danger; ODM

In a statement on Friday, January 12, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna questioned why Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki was silent over the issue.

“We take note of the loud silence of the CS in charge of national security and the inspector general of police. It is this silence, coupled with the fact that no action has been taken, “read the statement in part.

According to Sifuna, Governor Arati has been attacked two times and the matter was reported but no action has been taken place.

As a result, the Nairobi Senator demanded that the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome transfer the Kisii County Police Commander immediately, action to be taken against officers identified in the attack, and be interdicted as they await their date with Justice.

Sifuna also demanded South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro to be summoned and write a statement over the incident and the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) to commence investigations into the abuse of police power in Kisii County.

“These must happen within the next 14 days failing which the Party will pursue other avenues to ensure law and order in Kisii,” Sifuna stated.
