Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced that the National Job Recruitment Program in Nakuru City will be held on Monday.
The recruitment will be held at Rift Valley National Polyethnic, Nakuru County from 8 am to 5 pm and will serve the first people to arrive at the centre.
This comes after successful recruitments in Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties.
“We have secured over 1,000 job opportunities for Nakuru residents in countries such as Australia, Qatar, Poland, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Germany among others,” he said.
Mutua directed the applicants to carry their National ID, relevant academic certificates, updated CV, and passport (if available).
He assured those a passport they would be selected, stating that “we’ll assist you in acquiring one quickly”.
Mutua said the program is an incredible opportunity to secure a job abroad.
“For some positions, successful candidates could fly out before Christmas and start earning an income immediately,” he added.
The initiative is part of President William Ruto’s commitment to creating both local and international job opportunities for Kenyans.
CS Mutua said that the next recruitment locations include Baringo National Polytechnic (Tuesday), and Nyandarua National Polytechnic (Wednesday).
“See you tomorrow in Nakuru! Njoo mapema, mapema ndio best! Kazi ni nyingi na mbele iko sawa,” he said.
The program began on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and will cover all 47 counties.

In his initial announcement, Mutua said the program followed the successful conclusion of recruitment for jobs in Qatar.
During the first phase, 3,247 Kenyans were selected out of 8,000 available positions, with nearly 1,500 already receiving offer letters and preparing to travel.
“We expect all those recruited to depart within the next few weeks to begin their careers,” Mutua stated.
The Qatari company behind the openings is expected to return to Kenya to finalise hiring for the remaining 5,000 positions allocated to the country.
To ensure accessibility, the government is collaborating with stakeholders such as the National Employment Authority (NEA), the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), and licensed recruitment agencies. Recruitment will take place at county headquarters and TVET institutions.
