Former Public Service CS Moses Kuria has exuded confidence in his performance after missing a reappointment to the cabinet.

Former CS Kuria has said that he was satisfied with his work saying the record speaks for itself.

“The record speaks for itself. With lots of satisfaction, I go home with my head high proud of my contribution to my motherland,” he said.

The ex- minister further listed 10 achievements he succeded during his tenure.

Kuria said he initiated the establishment of County Aggregation and Industrial Parks in all 47 Counties and publicly launched them.

They are in Busia, Narok, Laikipia, Meru, Kajiado, Bungoma, Mombasa, Garissa, Kisii, Nyamira, Homa Bay, Siaya, Migori, Vihiga, Kakamega and Trans Nzoia.

He said the CAIPs will provide jobs for Gen Zs, maximize farmers’ incomes, and bring in foreign exchange.

The former CS said he pushed for budgetary allocation for new Export Processing Zones in Kiambu, Muranga, Busia, and Uasin Gishu.

This,  he said, was the first time the country will have Public EPZs outside Athi River, and that will create 200,000 jobs for Gen Zs and raise the Export GDP ratio from 10 percent to 30 percent.

“I Initiated lease allocation to a mega investor for the development of Special Economic Zones in Dongo Kundu and Naivasha that will create over 50,000 Gen Z Jobs and raise manufacturing contribution to GDP from 7 percent to 20 percent,” the former CS said.

The former CS further added that he initiated Bilateral Trade Agreements with the USA, EU, and UAE.

Kuria said he led Investment Promotion missions in the Gulf Cooperation Council Member States, USA, Indonesia, South Korea, and the United Kingdom in the quest to increase Foreign Direct Investments from US $ 500 Million to US $ 10 Billion.

Under his tenure, the CS said he visited 12 African Heads of State as the President’s special envoy on Africa Trade Integration.

“I established the Exports and Investments Promotion Levy to discourage unnecessary imports, a move that saved Kenya Sh20 Billion foreign exchange on Clinker imports, Sh100 Billion on steel billets imports and expansion of local furniture manufacturing by Gen Zs like Murage wa Modern Furniture Pacific,” he said.

Kuria added that he established a National Investment Council headed by the President to unlock challenges to investors.

He initiated the Re-engineering and Commercialisation of the National Youth Service to increase intake to 100,000 Gen Zs by 2027.

The former CS said he headed the expansion of Huduma Kenya to all 290 Constituencies and established Huduma Express for Premium Services, and Private Sector Services through a PPP, Huduma Express Super App and Self-Service Kiosks.

“I Initiated the transformation of the Kenya School of Government into the African School of Government that will also host the Global Centre for Adaptation, Centre for Green Finance and the Harvard Kennedy Africa Leadership Institute,” Kuria said.
