Julius Malema through his EFF Party lauds Kenyan Gen Z he calls out President Ruto.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party of Julius Malema on Monday called out President William Ruto arguing that he was losing his grip on power.
The South African party lauded the young Kenyans (Gen Z) for their courage to demand better governance through the anti-government protests.
“This dismissive attitude mirrors the arrogance of Ruto, who is rapidly losing his grip on power due to his disregard for the youth. Ramaphosa (South African president Cyril Ramaphosa) should take a hard lesson from this and recognise the urgent need to engage with the voices of the younger generation,” read the statement in parts.
EFF rubbished the government’s proposal for dialogue and coalition with the government as a response to Kenya’s calling for Ruto’s resignation.
The Malema-led party argued that this was a plan to avoid addressing the core issues raised by Kenyans, including corruption and misgovernance. The South African party urged Kenyans to remain resilient in demanding change.
Additionally, the party criticised the government for attempting to ban demonstrations in Nairobi and disobeying court orders in attempts to violate Kenyans’ constitutional rights.
“The EFF urges the youth of Kenya to stay strong in their fight for economic justice. Their bravery and determination serve as a beacon of hope and a call to action for all the oppressed people,” read part of the statement.

EFF called upon the youth in South Africa to emulate their counterparts in Kenya to fight the oppressive nature of the current regime.
Furthermore, the party assured young Kenyans that EFF was committed to supporting all efforts to achieve economic freedom and true liberation for the youth of Africa.
“South African Gen-Z must draw strength from the example set by their Kenyan counterparts and realise that they are in the midst of a battle,” read the statement in part.
Protests in the country began on June 18 and have attracted global attention with human rights groups calling for restraint from the police when dealing with protestors. The international community has also asked the government to engage Gen Z.
The protests have resulted in the death of over 50 Kenyans, over 200 hundred others were injured, others were arrested and others went missing. Protests are expected to continue on Tuesday, July 23, and Thursday, July 25.
