Kalonzo Musyoka scolds President William Ruto, saying no one should speak as if they own the nation.
In a press briefing on Sunday, July 21, the Wiper party leader noted that the country had moved on and that it was ahead of some leaders in government.
“No one should talk as if he owns the country. That is an expression of his opinion. The country has moved on. The country is ahead of some of these leaders,” Kalonzo remarked.
His comments came after the head of state warned Kenyan youth against protests on Sunday, July 22, saying the government would not allow violent protests.
President Ruto declared that the country was more important than some individuals, adding that he had given everyone a chance to air their grievances.
“I have called for a dialogue, but they have declined and continue to say they are faceless and formless. My friends, I have given everyone a chance to say what they want, but it cannot continue like this. The country is much more important than any group of people,” remarked Ruto.

He added, “Enough is enough, going forward we will protect the nation, property, and life and we will stop looters, mayhem, and anarchy because Kenya is a democracy and we want a peaceful nation. It is going to stop.”
However, Kalonzo claimed that the young generation were not anarchists and that they were acting constitutionally.
“There are no anarchists here. It is absolutely constitutional. How can you say a young lady, a young man armed with a bottle of water and a telephone is an anarchist? I don’t know how to thank Gen Z. They really liberated this country forever,” Kalonzo stated.
