Kalonzo dismisses claims that he met Ruto, adds he has started his 2027 presidential campaigns

Kalonzo dismisses claims that he met Ruto adding that he has already started his 2027 presidential campaigns.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said he’ll meet Ruto if need be after consulting Azimio leadership.

He dismissed rumours circulating on social media that he had reached out to the President-elect William Ruto saying it was a creation of individuals with ill motive.

Kalonzo who was Prime Minister designate in what would have been the Azimio government added that he will meet Ruto openly at the right time, but after consulting Wiper and Azimio leadership.

“Ruto came to see me when I lost my father in 2018. Now, they put that I went to see him,” Kalonzo said.

The former vice president spoke while addressing mourners during a burial ceremony at Mukalala village in Yatta, Machakos County on Saturday.

“If I want to meet him, I will do it openly after meeting with Azimio and Wiper members. We forgive you, we have every reason to forgive each other as we lay to rest mama Elizabeth,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo added that he was ready to champion the interests of Kenyans even in the opposition.

“We will give Yatta dam a priority. Even if we will be in opposition, we will push for its construction among other things,” he said.

“It is good for us to be in the opposition to deal with these people. Five years is a short time, we are going to serve in opposition to our level best.”

He congratulated Ruto stating that they respect him.

“We didn’t agree with the Supreme Court verdict, but we abide by it. We will swallow our bitterness for the sake of this country.”

The Wiper party boss added that he was ready to be in the opposition as he strategises on the way forward revealing that he had officially started his presidential campaigns ahead of 2027.
