Musunji village in Vihiga county is mourning after a form four student was fatally stabbed by an unidentified man in a over a woman.

The student, identified as Clinton, was stabbed to death just a day before the commencement of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations. 

According to a Citizen TV report, the student and the suspect got into a heated argument about a woman who lives in the same area.

Angry residents responded by setting ablaze the houses belonging to the suspect. 

“It all happened at around 9pm when a young man was killed by his counterpart over a fight for a woman. We called the area chief to call the authorities as the crowd was angry, and it started destroying houses,” a local revealed.

A female family member said she heard screams after Clinton was knifed to death just as she was starting to have her dinner. 

Hamisi Ruth Langat, the local police commander, confirmed the incident and said two suspects are already in custody following the horrific incident. 

Meanwhile, Clinton’s friends and family took to social media to mourn the young boy who died just before he could sit for KCSE, which officially began on Monday, October 23. 

“I am trying to comprehend what has happened. I remember interacting with this young boy. He was very calm, and now he is no more. It is so painful, and he had died too soon. May God protect Musunji village. Rest in Peace, Clinton,” Kelvin Manoah wrote on Facebook. Mwanzo Pourline said: “So sorry to the family.”
