Latest Arsenal transfer news: Ruben Neves discussed, £25m Liverpool battle, Edu ‘agreement’ and Alexander Isak latest.

Arsenal is putting in a lot of effort to bring in new players before the January transfer window closes.

Mikel Arteta has yet to sign any new players for the Emirates this month, despite the fact that there are only four days left. Several Gunners players have been granted permission to leave the club, either on loan or permanently.

Arsenal is looking to sign a midfielder and a striker this month.

With the futures of strikers Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Eddie Nketiah all in doubt, the Spanish manager wants to add more depth.

Latest Arsenal transfer news; Neves discussed

Arsenal is allegedly interested in signing Ruben Neves of Wolves.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are once again interested in signing Neves, who was a target for the Gunners last summer.

Arsenal are exploring a late move for Neves, who has flourished this season under Bruno Lage.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United.

In his 19 league games thus far this season, Neves has two goals and one assist.

£25m Liverpool battle

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal is one of three Premier League clubs interested in PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo.

The Dutch international has also been linked with Liverpool and Manchester City.

In 15 Eredivisie appearances so far this season, Gakpo has six goals and ten assists to his name.

According to Foot Mercato, the 22-year-old would cost roughly £25 million, with Arsenal interested in signing him this summer after he signed a one-year contract extension with PSV on Thursday.

Gakpo has one goal in four caps for Holland, having progressed through the PSV junior system.

Edu’s Juventus ‘agreement’

According to The Athletic, Edu has reached an agreement with Juventus director of football Federico Cherubini on a deal for Arthur.

The Arsenal board of directors, however, vetoed the move after Edu presented it to them.

The agreement was for an 18-month loan with the option to buy the midfielder for roughly £33.3 million.

Arsenal prefers to sign Arthur on a six-month loan with no option to buy him.

Despite being Arsenal’s main target throughout the window, Arthur is now set to stay in Turin.

Latest Arsenal transfer news on Alexander Isak

As Arsenal’s striker search continues, Alexander Isak is unlikely to join the club this month.

Real Sociedad and the player, according to Spanish football analyst Alvaro Montero, do not want a deal to happen in current window.

Montero told Sky Sports News: “I was speaking to people from San Sebastian, inside the club at Real Sociedad, and they say 100 per cent he is going to stay.

“The player wants to stay in the club, he renewed last summer I believe until 2026.

“His clause is about €90m and he wants to play with Real Sociedad and stay in the club, playing in Europe.

“So I will say it’s impossible for him to leave La Liga and leave the club.”
