Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp prepares €40m offer for Premier League rival target

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to make an offer for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to rumors.

Tielemans joined the Foxes on loan in January 2019, before making the transfer permanent in the summer for about £32 million.

Since joining at the King Power Stadium, the Belgium international has been outstanding, scoring the only goal in their FA Cup final victory last season.

The 24-year-old center midfielder has five goals and two assists in 14 Premier League appearances this season.

Tielemans has continued to pique the interest of a number of clubs around Europe, but the most common rumour is that he will join Liverpool.

Real Madrid and Liverpool are both interested in Tielemans, according to Spanish daily Nacional, with Leicester willing to let him go.

With the La Liga giants and Liverpool’ready’ to make an offer, Los Blancos feel the Belgian’resembles’ Toni Kroos.

The report adds Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ‘is preparing a €40m offense for the player’ with both Tielemans and Leicester “agreeing” that he will leave the club.

Leicester are wary of selling him to a ‘clear opponent,’ which might assist Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who ‘plans to sign him for a lesser fee than Klopp suggests.’

With only 18 months remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium, Tielemans is in a strong position to leave the Foxes, having previously stated that he is “open to everything.”

Tielemans told Sky Sports: “There’s no update really. I’m open to everything. The transfer market has just closed, but I want to keep as many options as I can open.

“As long as I’m here I will give everything for the club. I’ve already done so, but I will do so even more. The contract situation is just something that is going on in football, it’s a normal situation.

“There are talks going on – I’m not saying I’m going to sign, I’m not saying I’m not going to sign. We will see.”
