Liverpool team news, lineups, and injuries vs. Norwich City

Liverpool team news, injuries, and lineups for a premier league game against Norwich City on Saturday.

The relentless pace set by Manchester City means that every Premier League game is effectively a must-win for Liverpool’s home game against Norwich City.

The Reds can’t afford to think about the first of those yet, an EFL Cup final against Chelsea at the end of the month, and despite being firm favourites for Saturday’s meeting, Klopp will not allow them to overlook an improving Norwich team.

Liverpool team news vs Norwich City

Diogo Jota, the Portugal international, will miss this encounter after being hauled off at halftime of Liverpool’s Champions League triumph over Inter Milan due to a swollen ankle.

Jota’s injury is said to be more serious than first thought, perhaps ruling him out of the EFL Cup final on February 27.

Klopp is in the unusual situation of not having any further injury problems, but with a midweek meeting against Leeds United coming up before the EFL Cup final next week, he may make alterations to his starting lineup.

Luis Diaz, who has had a strong start to his Liverpool career, will be hoping to be recalled, while Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Joel Matip are among the other players pressing for a recall.

Firmino has a direct hand in five goals in his previous four outings against Norwich, while Salah has a better record, having contributed to five goals in his last three games against them.

Norwich have more injury problems than their opponents going into this game, with Tim Krul and Jacob Sorensen still expected to miss a week and Andrew Omobamidele a little longer-term absentee.

However, Dean Smith could have Adam Idah and Lukas Rupp available again, and Ozan Kabak could return to Anfield if he recovers from his illness in time.

Liverpool team news, possible starting lineup

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Diaz

Norwich City possible starting lineup
