Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

United have been a disaster in their last three matches, seeing Norwich City give them a hard time, although they won 3-2, Liverpool running riot in a 4-0 victory at Anfield and Arsenal beating them 3-1 at the Emirates.

United’s players need to start working hard to make some changes.

Manchester United have confirmed both Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw are likely to be out until next month.

Ralf Rangnick will also be without Pogba and Fred as the Brazilian is still struggling from the hip problem to have ruled him out of the last three games.

Harry Maguire, however, may be recalled after missing the loss to Arsenal.

Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were unused subs at the Emirates, although it remains to be seen if Rangnick is willing to drop either Cristiano Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes.

Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles look set to continue in the wing-back roles.

Chelsea have suffered injuries to four regular starters in recent weeks, adding to long-term absentees Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles) and Ben Chilwell (knee), who are expected to still be unavailable for several weeks.

Mateo Kovacic (ankle) and Antonio Rudiger (groin) were both missing for Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League win over West Ham, while Andreas Christensen was also unavailable due to stomach cramps, with the Dane having recovered from the injury he sustained against Arsenal last week.

Centre-back duo Rudiger and Christensen could feature at Old Trafford on Thursday. In the aftermath of Sunday’s win against West Ham, manager Thomas Tuchel predicted the former to be back in training on Tuesday. Kovacic, though, is unlikely to make the trip to Manchester.

Reece James (hamstring) also missed the victory over West Ham due to a recurrence of an old injury but is expected to return to the Blues’ first-team squad for this match.
