Miguna predicts humiliating defeat for William Ruto in 2027 election

Miguna Miguna argued that President Ruto re-election chances are slim, suggesting he could lose to any opponent
Miguna Miguna argued that President Ruto re-election chances are slim, suggesting he could lose to any opponent.
Lawyer Miguna Miguna has claimed that President William Ruto’s popularity is on a sharp decline in several regions as the country approaches the 2027 general election.
His comments followed a cold reception Ruto received during the ordination ceremony of Bishop Peter Kimani in Embu on Sunday, November 16.
Miguna argued that the president’s re-election chances are slim, suggesting he could lose to any opponent.
Despite President Ruto’s efforts to woo opposition strongholds by appointing ODM leaders to his Cabinet, Miguna believes this strategy will unlikely secure support from Nyanza and Western regions.
“Ruto is so unpopular all over Kenya, that even an injured monkey would defeat him in an election. Let no one deceive you that Luos or Luhyas will rescue him from the inevitable defeat and jail. Nyanza—especially the Luo Nation—will never support Wiliam Ruto. Don’t be deceived by noise. It’s irretrievably over for Ruto,” he stated.
Following President Ruto’s booing by attendees of the Embu event, Miguna expressed disapproval of the hostile reaction but urged Kenyans to hold leaders accountable.
He criticised the Kenya Kwanza administration for failing to address the pressing issues facing the country and questioned the legitimacy of allowing such leaders to address public gatherings.

“Kenyans should graduate from booing tyrannical looters at public events to chasing them away. Don’t allow them to address you. That’s a duty and the only language they understand,” he said.
Miguna’s remarks reflect growing political discontent, raising questions about Ruto’s strategy to maintain his support base.
As the nation gears up for the 2027 polls, the president faces mounting pressure to address economic challenges and regain trust among voters.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi also sympathised with Ruto after the Embu residents disapproved of some of his talking points.
According to the lawmaker, the kind of treatment Ruto received represents the feelings of the entire Mt Kenya region. The behaviours were alleged to have stemmed from the impeachment of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
