Mike Sonko To Vie For Mombasa Gubernatorial Seat on Wiper Ticket
Mike Sonko, the former Nairobi governor has announced to vie for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming August 9 General Election.
Sonko will be contesting the seat on a Wiper party ticket under the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.
In an interview with local news daily, TUKO.co.ke, Mike Sonko said he is a national leader, so can vie anywhere in the country.

“It’s true, I am going for Mombasa county gubernatorial seat on Wiper party under Azimio, I am a national leader and Mombasa is still my hometown,” said Sonko.
The City’s flamboyant politician is staging a comeback into the active political scene after a lengthy break occasioned by his unceremonial ouster from Nairobi’s top seat.
