Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi holds talks with former United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron now Britain’s Foreign Secretary.

In a statement released on Saturday, November 18 after the call, Mudavadi said he congratulated Cameron for his new role as the UK foreign secretary and exchanged views on global and local issues with an emphasis on peace and stability in the region.

“We exchanged views on global and regional issues. Both of us emphasized the significance of peace and stability in the region.

“The Foreign Secretary commended the Government of Kenya for its leadership role in the various peace initiatives in the region and matters of climate change,” said Mudavadi.

The Prime CS also mentioned that he was updated on the developments in the Russia-Ukraine situation which has the potential to ease the pressure on global commodity supply chains.

“We reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen our bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of our nations,” he added.

Cameron returned to the UK cabinet on Monday last week after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appointed him as the new foreign secretary.

He replaced James Cleverly, who was moved to be the home secretary to take over from Suella Braverman who was sacked.

Cameron served as the UK Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, resigning after the outcome of the Brexit referendum, when Britain voted to leave the European Union.
