3 min readMt Kenya MPs led by Mwangi Kiunjuri meet in Eldoret and attack DP Gachagua for ‘undermining’ Ruto.
A group of legislators from Mt Kenya met in Eldoret and asked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to get used to working with President William Ruto and ODM leaders.
The MPs, led by Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri, said Gachagua has no option but accept the new political arrangement and stop undermining Ruto.
The lawmakers met more than 300 representatives of the Kikuyu community to discuss matters of national unity.
Other MPs present were Joseph Wainaina (nominated), John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), John Kiragu (Limuru) and Duncan Mathenge (Nyeri Town).
“You have sent us to tell President Ruto and his DP Gachagua that all you want is peace and development,” Kiunjuri said.
He said he will take the message to Ruto and other leaders in Mt Kenya.
“I will also text Gachagua and tell him to value unity and get used to working with the President in the new political arrangement. I will tell him that you have said he should not undermine Ruto,” Kiunjuri said.

He said all Kenyans have the right to be in government and those who have “shares” in Kenya’s Kwanza government should get used to the new broad-based government.
“I will tell Gachagua to stop backstabbing Ruto and instead work with him,” Kiunjuri said.
He said the recent protests by Gen Zs brought national unity.
The MP said Kenyans must live together regardless of their tribal affiliations or where they reside.
“As a community here in Rift Valley, you have asked us to go tell Ruto and his deputy that all you want is peace and stability in Kenya,” Kiunjuri said.
He urged all Kenyans to support Ruto to complete his term.
Kiunjuri accused Gachagua of playing politics that can lead to other Kenyans sidelining the Kikuyu community.
“We all need to support the President and the broad-based government because it has helped to bring all Kenyans on board. This country belongs to all of us and we must live tolerate each other,” he said.
