Neville hits out at ‘tone deaf’ Man United players, manager for partying on ‘global tour’ after champions league exit.
Gary Neville vented his frustrations at the ‘tone deaf’ partying the Manchester United players did over the weekend.
It was disappointing for the Red Devils as they crashed out of the Champions League to Atletico Madrid.
The loss meant that United will go five years without winning a trophy and now look unlikely to get top four this season.
They had a rare weekend off as they were already knocked out the FA Cup and the players took advantage of this.
Marcus Rashford and Brandon Williams, who is on loan at Norwich, were in Dubai watching Sunny Edwards beat Muhammad Waseem and Regis Prograis win against Tyrone McKenna.
Jadon Sancho attended a Dubai party hosted by singer-songwriter Davido, while Ralf Rangnick was pictured in Barbados watching England take on the West Indies.
United owner Avram Glazer also jetted around the world to watch the Bahrain Grand Prix.
“I remember a time when United players, managers, executives wouldn’t be seen in their local Italian after a draw at home let alone getting knocked out of Europe,” Neville wrote on Twitter.
“This last week we’ve seen a global tour of F1, Concerts, Cricket and UFC events. This lot are Tone Deaf!”
He added: “I expect them to adapt to circumstances and go on holiday but quietly!”
When questioned that he was suggesting players couldn’t live their lives, Neville said: “No they are. They can go on holiday, relax, take time off.
“However if you’ve been knocked out of the Champions League, FA Cup, League cup and floundering in the League I wouldn’t think it’s too much to ask to lie low a bit!!”
