Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga snubs Uhuru’s Sagana meeting
2 min readSagana meeting is taking place in Nyeri County, but the host, Governor Mutahi Kahiga, is no show.
It’s the first time the Sagana meeting, which is the third, will take place in his absence.
In previous meetings, the governor has been receiving the Head of State on his arrival.
Kahiga has been critical of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the recent past and has aligned himself with DP Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza political camp.
Maybe the governor will not be attending the meeting after he ditched the Jubilee Party to join Ruto’s UDA.
In his speech, the president aimed a thinly-veiled dig at the governor for his absence.
“I won’t speak about other people, but I want people to make a choice based on the truth not lies.”
“This is my meeting and it is my day so I don’t want other people to say I didn’t allow them to speak.”
“I welcomed (Governor) Mutahi (Kahiga) to attend the meeting because he is the host, but he chose to skip.”
Thousands of Jubilee supporters from various areas within the Mt Kenya region have arrived at Sagana State Lodge for the president’s meeting.
