Okiya Omtatah dares Ruto after attack on Judiciary

"Table the evidence against the corrupt officials in the Judiciary if you have any," Senator Okiya Omtatah dares President Ruto

“Table the evidence against the corrupt officials in the Judiciary if you have any,” Senator Okiya Omtatah dares President Ruto.

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has dared President William Ruto to table evidence against corrupt judicial officers and judges sabotaging his development agenda.

Speaking to the media on Friday, January 5, Omtatah stated that while the President is entitled to protest and be heard just like any other Kenyan, he also needs to back up his assertions.

“I look him straight in the eye and challenge him to table the evidence of bribe-taking against any judge or bribe-giving he has against any litigant and let the chips fall where they may,” Omtatah stated.

Omtatah further said it would be a grave matter if President Ruto does not have any evidence to support his claim.

“It is a grave matter if the President does not have any evidence to support his alarming allegations. And from the look of things, he doesn’t have an iota of evidence against the people he has accused of engaging in bribery, otherwise, he would have handed the lot over to law enforcement and thrown the book at them, he would not have presented himself to the public ” Omtatah stated.

The first-time Busia Senator further pointed out that he has never bribed any judge and is not contemplating doing so.

Omtatah’s statement comes after President Ruto alleged that some elements had taken captive some judicial officers to frustrate Government efforts in taming the theft of public resources.

He attacked the judiciary and mentioned he would defy court orders.

“Our Judiciary, we respect you but judicial impunity by corrupt judicial officers must stop in Kenya. We will stop it, whatever it takes. The judiciary must submit itself to the constitution and to the people of Kenya,” remarked President Ruto.
