Only Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and I know the contents of the Azimio La Umoja – Kalonzo U-turn

Kalonzo U-turn on OKA deal signed last week; Only Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and I know the contents of the Azimio La Umoja

Speaking on Friday at Musyi FM, the Wiper leader said that only him, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and President Uhuru Kenyatta know details of the deal.

“The only people who know all the contents of the Azimio – One Kenya Agreement are President Uhuru Kenyatta, Rt Hon Prime Minister @RailaOdinga, and myself,” he said.

He said is aware of the deal his party and others signed with the Azimio la Umoja movement at KICC despite earlier saying didn’t know the contents of the signed deal.

He also added; “Nothing is agreed until it is agreed on the Azimio – One Kenya Grand Alliance.”

His remarks come barely a week after he said that they were not aware of what they signed at KICC.

Speaking to KTN News, Kalonzo said there are doubts about the transparency of the process, stating that most of the parties were not aware of what they signed.

Kalonzo revealed that during the meeting at the KICC, parties were hurriedly presented with two documents to sign.

“If I asked all those party secretary-generals present SGs what they affixed their signatures to, nobody knows,” he said.

According to Kalonzo, the ODM Director of Elections Junet Muhammed introduced a second paper requesting that the parties nominate Raila as Azimio la Umoja’s presidential candidate.

The former Vice President indicated that his party refused to sign that section of the deal since the coalition was to be called Azimio One Kenya Alliance under the previous arrangement.

He stated that he and his OKA co-principals would be retreating to evaluate the agreement’s legal intricacies.

“I still want to have a meeting with my fellow principals and our lawyers, including myself to reflect on that technicality,” he said.
