Prediction on top-four race, Tottenham, Arsenal and Man United after Gunners drop points
Prediction on top-four race, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Man United after Gunners drop points against Crystal Palace.
Following a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday evening, Mikel Arteta’s side squandered the chance to reclaim fourth place.
Spurs, meanwhile, beat Newcastle United 5-1 on Sunday to move into fourth place in the table, one point ahead of Arsenal on goal difference.
Although Arsenal still have a game in hand over their north London opponents.
Prediction on top-four race
In the top-four race, former man United player, Wayne Rooney believes Tottenham will finish ahead of Arsenal.
Rooney believes Antonio Conte has a significant advantage due to his squad’s experience.
‘I think it’s Arsenal or Tottenham, it’s between the two of them,’ Rooney told Sky Sports.
‘I look at Manchester United’s form of late, I don’t think they’re going to challenge for it.
‘It’s between Tottenham and Arsenal and I think Tottenham have got the experience in the squad, I give them the upper hand.
‘It’s almost like no one wants that fourth place, I think that’s the inconsistency of the teams below Manchester City and Liverpool.
‘I think they’ve set the marker, they’re two incredible teams who perform every week, and the teams below them, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham, are a little bit inconsistent and that shows in their league position.’
Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher also believes the Spurs have an advantage over Arsenal.
‘I think Tottenham have got the better fixtures,’ said the former Liverpool defender.
‘They’ve got Arsenal to come to their place as well and even if you take that game out, there’s no doubt Tottenham has the better fixtures.
‘Arsenal has that game in hand but if you look at that game in hand it’s Chelsea away. It’ll be difficult to see Arsenal pick up too much from that game.
‘I think the fact Arsenal’s game in hand is Chelsea is a bit of a worry in some ways.’
